Early on the morning of 24 January 2013, the tug Charlene Hunt lost the tow of the vessel Lyubov Orlova south of Cape Race, Newfoundland. The tow has not successfully resumed and the Lyubov Orlova is derelict and adrift in international waters.
On 07 November 2013, the passenger ferry "PRINCESS OF ACADIA" ran aground while approaching the wharf at Digby, NS. No injuries or pollution reported.
On 18 May 2013, the fishing vessel Marie J grounded on a sand bar in rough water in the Tabustinac Gulley, New Brunswick. The vessel sustained considerable damage in the seas. The 3 crew members on board suffered fatal injuries.
On 15 December 2013, the tug Andre H, while towing the service vessels "I.V. NO. 8", "I.V. NO. 9" and "I.V. NO.10", broke tow and lost service vessels "I.V. NO. 9" and "I.V. NO.10", approximately 1.5 nautical miles North of Gros Morne, Quebec. The service vessels drifted and grounded near l'Anse Pleureuse, Quebec.
On 03 August 2013, the M/V Heloise and the tug Ocean Georgie Bain were involved in a collision near section 76 in the Port of Montreal, Quebec. No injuries or pollution were reported. The tug sustained damage.
On 16 May 2013, the passenger vessel Louis Jolliet ran aground off Ste-Petronille, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec with 57 passengers and 21 crew aboard. No pollution or injuries were reported and all the passengers were evacuated.
On , at approximately 2305 Eastern Standard Time, the general cargo vessel Claude A. Desgagnes struck the upper approach wall of the Iroquois Lock in the St. Lawrence Seaway near Iroquois, Ontario. The vessel then crossed the channel and ran aground. No pollution or injuries were reported; however, the vessel sustained minor damage.
On at 0045 Pacific Standard Time the bulk carrier Cape Apricot, while under the conduct of a pilot, struck the causeway and conveyor system connecting Westshore Terminals berth 1 to the main terminal at Roberts Bank, British Columbia. As a result of the impact, the causeway and conveyor collapsed into the water, and the vessel's bow sustained damage. There was minor pollution and no injuries.
On at approximately 1130 Pacific Daylight Time, the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue vessel Lewis-McPhee, with 4 crew members on board, capsized during exercises in Sechelt Rapids, British Columbia. Two of the crew members were recovered by another vessel; the remaining 2 crew members were later found dead under the capsized vessel
