On , a privately operated Piper PA28-161 Warrior II aircraft was departing a cut hay field near Black Diamond, Alberta. During the take-off, the aircraft collided with hay bales and was destroyed by a post-impact fire. There were two people on board; one received fatal injuries and the other one was seriously injured.
On , a privately operated amateur-built Mosquito XE helicopter was on a flight near Indus/Winters Aire Park Airport, Alberta, with only the pilot on board. While flying along the Highwood River, the helicopter struck a power line at approximately 75 feet above ground level, and then impacted the ground on the river bank. The aircraft was destroyed, and the pilot was fatally injured. There was no post impact fire. The TSB is investigating.
On , a Boeing 737-700 aircraft operated by WestJet, was conducting flight WJA113 from Calgary, Alberta, to Vancouver, British Columbia, with 53 passengers and 5 crew members on board. While climbing through 9000 feet after departure, the flight crew received a cargo fire warning. An emergency was declared and a return to Calgary was requested. After landing, the cargo hold was inspected and evidence was found of a fire in passenger baggage.

With two pilots and four passengers on board, the aircraft was conducting a flight from Medicine Hat, Alberta to Calgary, Alberta.
On , an Aerospatiale AS-350-B2 aircraft operated by Sahtu Helicopters was conducting an engine warm-up run on a hilltop helipad approximately three nautical miles west-north-west of Tulita, Northwest Territories.
On , a vintage De Havilland DH-89A biplane, operated by the Historic Flight Foundation, was conducting an air ride with four passengers on board during an airshow at the Abbotsford International Airport, British Columbia. During the initial climb, shortly after becoming airborne, the aircraft impacted the runway with its right wings, and came to rest on its nose on the right edge of the runway. Three passengers received minor injuries.
