Transportation Safety Board of Canada deploys a team to St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, to investigate a marine accident
Gatineau, Quebec, 3 November 2012 — The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of investigators to St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, to board the tanker M/V Nanny. The vessel ran aground near Baker Lake, Nunavut, on 25 October 2012 and was authorized to transit to St. John's for repairs. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
