TSB Deploys team to investigate helicopter accident near Sept-Îles, Quebec

(Gatineau, Quebec, August 17, 2010) - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has deployed a team to today's helicopter accident near Sept-Iles, QC. TSB senior air investigator Pierre Gavillet is the Investigator-in-Charge and is leading the team. He is accompanied by one TSB investigator.

On Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at approximately 12:00 pm local time, a helicopter was involved in an accident.

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
