TSB Deploys Team to Investigate Air Accident in Markham, Ontario

(Gatineau, Quebec, May 25, 2010) - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has deployed a team to today's air accident in Markham, Ontario. TSB senior air investigator Peter Rowntree is the Investigator-in-Charge and is leading the team. He is accompanied by 6 TSB investigators.

On Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at approximately 12:45 p.m. local time, a Cirrus SR-20 was involved in an accident.

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
